Organic Root Stimulator Olive Oil Heat Protection Serum Review.

Hi everybody! Today I want to talk about the 'Organic Root Stimulator Olive Oil Heat Protection Serum'. I picked this product up a while a go in boots for a decent price as I was looking for a new heat protector. I have to admit that I have to remind myself to use heat protection on my hair as I am not one for using hot tools on my hair on a regular basis, preferring to go au natural. I chose this product because I am a fan of Olive oil and I'm aware of how great it is for your skin and hair. My hair has a natural wave and can be frizzy at times. The product says it helps to straighten your hair while protecting it from heat so I was curious to put it to the test.

Description
"Olive Oil Heat Protection serum provides heat protection for hair. It helps to straighten the hair while shielding it from heat damage caused by using hot tools including blow dryers, curlers and flat irons. Infused with Coconut Oil and essence of Olive Oil to add shine and moisture. Olive Oil Heat Protection Serum aids in leaving the hair silky, shiny and smooth. "

Price
£4.39

Packaging
Plastic clear bottle. Secure lid.  Can see how much you've used. 6.Fl.OZ. Packaging isn't very fancy.

Liked
*This serum smells DELICIOUS, it smells like strawberry.
*You don't need to use very much. The bottle is taking forever to get through.
*Leaves my hair looking shiny. If I blow dry my hair, or straighten it, my hair feels soft too.
*I often use this a pre conditioner before washing my hair. My hair feels great after.

Disliked
*If you use too much product, your hair feels greasy because of it being a serum.
*Sceptical about the straightening qualities. I haven't noticed a difference.
*Haven't noticed if my hair is in better condition because of using heat protection.

Recommended for:
I wouldn't recommend this for people with oily hair. I think it would be too rich. After reading other reviews online, people with frizzier, course hair seem to be bigger fans.

Repurchase?
If I ever get through the whole bottle, I'd probably repurchase to use as a multi-purpose serum.

Rating:
7/10.  Quite happy with the product. Very affordable. Lovely scent.

BareFaced Beauty Mineral Blush Review.

Hello again. I've done a couple of skin and haircare reviews, so thought it was time I talked make up!
Next up is BareFaced Beauty. I have only tried one item by this brand, and that's the mineral blush. As a long term devotee to Lily Lolo, I admit I haven't done much experimenting with other mineral make up companies. So when my Lily Lolo blush ran out, I started using this alternative. BareFaced beauty describe themselves as "an award winning mineral makeup brand devoted to providing you with the most natural mineral cosmetics available anywhere in the world. Our mineral makeup is made from 100% natural minerals and contains no Alcohol, Chemicals, Parabens, Perfume or Bismuth Oxychloride. Our cosmetics have gained Cruelty Free International Leaping Bunny approval, vegan society approval, vegetarian society approved and also halal approval."

So far, so good. So how does it compare...

Description

Colour- Selene

"Made with a high density of the most expensive ingredients on the market, this gorgeous natural makeup will give you a lovely silk sheer look and add a bit of warmth to your complexion."

blusher-selene-pic

Price
£10.00 from the official website.

Packaging
Plastic container. Screw top lid. Clear so you can see how much you have left. Silver detailing around rim has become quite dirty.

Left sample, blusher worked in.
Right sample, as applied straight onto hand.
Liked
*Very Pigmented. Less is more.
*Lovely warm colour. Described on website as a matt, rich, rosy shade. It definitely adds rose to your cheeks.
*Ever so slightly shimmery. Catches in the light.
*Stays on all day.
*Blends into your make up well.

Disliked
*Could have done with a lockable sifter, the blush goes everywhere if you're not careful.

Recommended for:
Anybody who wants a flattering shade blush which lasts all day.

Repurchase?
Definitely, if I ever get through the whole container. It lasts forever because you use so little!

Rating:
9/10.  No complaints.

Have you tried any good natural blushes? I'm looking at maybe experimenting with a cream or pressed powder blush next. Got any recommendations?

Inecto Pure Coconut Review

As a poor, poor student I have tried to find a way to use natural and organic products but with a low budget. While browsing the isles of Bodycare, a place to buy beauty and bath products at a discounted price, I came across the Inecto Pure Coconut range. Inecto describe themselves as "nature’s answer to revitalising dry hair and skin. Enhance the natural you with our collection of exclusive hair, skin and bodycare products, you’ll find we have something for everyone."

I have now sampled a fair amount of products by Inecto, and  have repurchased some items a couple times so thought it was about time I shared my thoughts.

BODY LOTION

Description
"Moisture Replenishing Body Lotion contains 100% pure coconut oil to replenish moisture, leaving dry skin soft, smooth and conditioned."
Price
£1.99 in Bodycare

Packaging
Plain white bottle. 250ml. Fairly average. Secure top.

Liked
*Non greasy, as described on bottle.
*Skin feels soft and moisturised.
*Bottle lasts ages.
*Smells of coconut, so if you like coconut like me, is amazing.
*Sinks in really quickly.

Disliked
*I'm not a fan of the packaging. Makes the product look lower quality.

Recommended for:
People who want a good everyday lotion. No frills but it does what it says on the packaging.

Repurchase?
Definitely. For £1.99, its a bargain. Great for when I'm at uni!

Rating
8/10 - Great product. My go-to daily lotion.

SHAMPOO

Description
"Inecto Pure Coconut Moisture Infusing Shampoo softens and revitalizes the hair. Contains 100% Pure Coconut Oil to cleanse and nourish dry damaged hair to leave it shiny, soft and easy to manage."
Price
£1.99 in Bodycare.

Packaging
Same packaging runs through range. 500ml. A lot of product.

Liked
*The smell of coconut.
*My hair felt thoroughly washed.
*The bottle lasted forever.
*Hair looked shiny and felt fairly soft.

Disliked
*The shampoo could have been slightly richer and more moisturising. I wouldn't use the shampoo without following with a conditioner.

Recommended for:
An everyday shampoo. If I wanted my hair to look great for a special occasion, I'd consider using an alternative shampoo. My hair is quite dry and frizzy naturally so sometimes needs an extra boost.

Repurchase?
Indeed. I have in fact repurchased this shampoo on several occasions.

Rating
7.5/10. I'm not raving over it, but I'm not complaining about it either.

CONDITIONER

Description
"Inecto Pure Coconut Moisture Infusing Conditioner that nourishes hair and smooths frizz. Contains 100% pure coconut oil to smooth and nourish dry, damaged hair.  Paraben free."

Price
Again, £1.99

Packaging
Identical to the shampoo. Make sure you don't pick up two shampoo bottles by mistake!

Liked
*Cost per use is fantastic. I have a lot of hair, and this conditioner lasts me a long time!
*Yummy yummy coconut scent (again)
*Hair felt hydrated and soft when used with matching shampoo

Disliked
*My hair needs that extra nourishment, I'd love it if the conditioner gave it a little bit more.

Recommended for:
People who want a lightweight conditioner.

Repurchase?
I have repurchased this item along side the shampoo several times. I can't resist the cheap price.

Rating
6.5/10. Not perfect, but good enough that I have bought it again.

BODY WASH

Description
"Moisturising Body Wash. Paraben free. Contains 100% pure coconut oil to cleanse and pamper dry skin. Mild, gentle and pH balanced, its unique formula leaves skin clean and soft."

Price
...£1.99 if I remember correctly. Possibly £1.49

Packaging
Same label as before. 200 ml.

Liked
*Easy to get out of bottle.
*Smells amazing.
*Left me feeling fresh and clean.

Disliked
*Unlike the other products, this one ran out very quickly. It didn't even last me a week.
*I wouldn't recommend it for shaving with. Caused slight irritation on my legs. I think its because you don't get a lather from the product due to there being no SLS in it.

Recommended for:
*A quick everyday wash. As stated before, not suitable for shaving with.

Repurchase?
Probably not for the fact it ran out so quickly.

Rating
5/10. The most disappointing product out of the selection I tried.

OVERALL BRAND RATING

7.5/10

I think these products are good. Some better than others but you get that with every brand. I'm keen to try out their other products. They are extremely low priced and I think the price shouldn't put you off, you might be surprised. They are great everyday products.

I buy them in Bodycare but get them cheap online too. Prices may vary, available from:

Faith In Nature Moisturising Cream Review

Hello again! Time for another review. I have been using the Faith in Nature Replenishing Moisturising Cream on a daily basis.  My mum gave it to me as she found it wasn't very suitable on her very dry skin. As my skin in normal/dry, I thought I would try it out as my last moisturiser had just run out.

Description
"Replenishing Moisturising Cream that hydrates and softens the skin whilst helping to reduce the appearance of fine lines. Enriched with Organic Green Tea, an anti-oxidant known to slow the effects of ageing. "

Replenishing Moisturising Cream
Price
It was £6.39.

Packaging
50 ml bottle. Pump dispenser . Label has started peeling

Liked
*Lasts forever. Only a small amount is needed.
*Cost per use is great.

Disliked
*I'm not overly keen on the smell
*Needs to be worked into the skin quite a lot.
*Feels slightly sticky once applied. Therefore, it is not a great base for applying make up onto.
*Doesn't make my face feel replenished or soft as stated on packaging.
*Takes time for it to sink in to my skin.

Recommended For:
People who want value for money. Decent price, especially considering how long it lasted.

Repurchase?
No, I have not been impressed with this moisturiser. It does not replenish or soften my skin as it says it will do. Feels cheap.

Rating
3/10
Disappointing product.

Has anybody got any good recommendations for my next moisturiser?

Lavera Natural Liquid Foundation Review

Welcome back to my natural beauty blog!
I have been away from this blog for almost 2 years which is scary to believe, time flies. I have now completed my second year at university and i'm loving every minute.
That doesn't mean I have been neglecting my love for natural and organic beauty products though. They are still regularly used in my everyday life. Therefore I am going to get straight into a review of a product I have previously mentioned on my blog in a haul which you can view here

So lets get to it...

Shade: 02 Ivory

As I previously mentioned in my haul. I was slightly sceptical of Lavera products after being very disappointed with the Volume mascara. The review for that can be read here. I bought this foundation after seeing it in a video by Lisa Eldridge so decided it must be pretty good.

Price
It was £11.90.

Packaging
30 ml bottle. Secure fastening lid. Writing has worn off through use.

Liked
*The colour was a great match for me.
*It didn't clog my skin.
*The bottle has lasted me for ages.
*Gave a 'delicate coverage' as described on the bottle.

Disliked
*Needed quite a bit of working into the skin. Could look streaky if not applied well.
*It wasn't as long lasting as I would generally want. I don't like having to redo my make up through the day so I would generally use a finishing powder on top.
*I didn't like the way it looked when photographed.

Recommended For:
*Somebody who wants a light foundation.
*Somebody who wants a good foundation for day time wear.
*People who want value for money. Decent price, especially considering how long it lasted.

Repurchase?
Yes, with the means of using it for a light coverage in the day time.

Rating
7/10
Good value for money. Does what it says on the bottle.

And the adventure begins...

Hello! Just a quick update to let you know that on Sunday, I am moving away from home and starting university! This means I probably won't be writing any posts for a week or two while I get settled it. I'm pretty much all packed and ready to go now, I'm very excited! As I will soon be a student with no money, this blog will really start to show what natural and organic products I love which are affordable!
Thanks for the continued support from you all by reading and commenting on my blog!
Looking forward to posting again soon!

Biopha Crème Mains Review

Hello there! How are you? Today I'm reviewing a hand cream by the French brand Biopha. You may have noticed it in a previous haul I posted
Thanks to Google translate, I have been able to read about the brand on their website! The products are of natural origin and are certified organic. Their products are practical and economical and are affordable as they can be bought in the supermarkets. They say they use sweet, fresh, 100% natural scents such as apple, pear and grapefruit.
The Hand Cream contains Aloe Vera and Argan Oil which will moisturise and nourish the skin restoring suppleness and softness to the hands.
It all sounds very good, so what did I think of the product?

Price
It was €4.90.

Packaging
150ml. Good basic packaging. Nothing too fancy. Quite a lot of product for price.

Scent
Argan oil and Aloe Vera. The cream smells like sherbet to me. Unexpected but lovely!!
Liked
*This is a non greasy hand cream. You can get straight on with what you were doing after applying it.
*It has almost a cooling effect as it dries.
*The bottle is going to last for ages!!
*It makes my hands feel soft.
*It soothing to my hands if they are dry or irritated.
*A good everyday cream.

Disliked
*This is not the product for you if you want a rich hand cream which will be incredibly moisturising for your hands.
*Bottle is almost too big for your bag.

Recommended For:
*Somebody wanting an everyday hand cream
*Somebody who likes sweet sugary scents.
*People who want a good product where you get a lot for your money.
Repurchase?
Yes. If I happened to be in France and saw it in the supermarket, I would get another one! I would be interested to see what their other products were like.

Rating
7/10
A decent item. You can't go wrong for the price.

Buy From
In Supermarkets in France. I have not been able to see anywhere online selling it for people outside France.

Have any of you tried a good French Skincare/ beauty brand?
